Heart Rate Chart
Many top athletes use heart rates to monitor their training to ensure they push themselves to the optimal limit without burning out. Coaches can scientifically design training programs by using heart rate charts. The idea is to calculate the optimum heart rate zone in which you should train to maximise your results. Heart Rate Chart

A heart rate chart is used to calculate your optimal heart rate zone in which to exercise. The first thing you need to do is calculate your maximum heart rate. Sounds hard, but it is approximately 220 beats per minute (bpm) less your age. For example, if are 40 years of age, your maximum heart rate is 180 beats per minute. There are more scientific ways of calculating your maximum heart beat, but you need to go to a lab for detailed testing.

The next thing you need to do is calculate your optimum heart rate zone, being 65% to 85% of your maximum heart rate. Rather than getting out your calculator, use the table below, or heart rate chart, to give you all the information.

Click on the down arrow next to Blood Pressure and select heart rate zones. Leave the button clicked that says automatically calculate heart rate zones. Select age with the up and down arrow. Select the percentage of max which is just the percentage of your maximum heart rate that you want to exercise at. For example, if the age was set at 40 and you selected 60%, the exercise heart rate is automatically calculated to be 108 bpm. Do the same for other percentages that you want to exercise at, or calculate your optimal heart rate zone for exercising. Your lower limit could be 65% of your maximum heart rate to get the lowest beats per minute of the range, and 85% to get your upper limit.
